The Principal’s Pen – May 2012

The Principal’s Pen (from ‘News from the Point- May 2012′)

Dear Patriots:

Many opportunities are coming up for the summer.  Extended school year will be offered to our students for course recovery in June.  We will also have science and technology camps for selected students. These are camps offered through Title I, and give our students extra support and educational experiences in the summer.

We have only received about 25% of the parent surveys for Title I to this point.  If you have not already gone on line to our website to do this, please make every effort to give us your feedback so that we can use it to plan for next school year.  We value your suggestions and responses and need them as we partner with you to make Bayonet Point a better school.

Our eighth grade students are getting ready for end of the year activities.  This is a great time of year for them to celebrate the conclusion of their middle school experience and anticipate moving on to high school.  With this celebration comes responsibility.   We have told the students that to be eligible to participate, they must act appropriately and be on track for promotion.  We are looking forward to these activities and celebrating with them in this milestone of their academic careers.

With Patriot Pride,

Michael Asbell
